The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Dayton on Tuesday night for an AAC Matchup with Bryan College. TWU pulled out a 67-64 win over the Lions.
Tennessee Wesleyan dug a 6-0 hole and trailed by that same margin after one period, 21-15. Madison Walkup had a pair of treys and Lindsey Macon one, along with eight points from Hunter Simpson as the Bulldogs surged to a 36-31 half time advantage.
Savannah Atkins opened the third stanza with back-to-back 3-pointers; Walkup added two more treys and Macon had six points to keep Wesleyan on top, 55-49, going to the fourth quarter. Missed free throws allowed Bryan to pull even at 60 before Gina Dick nailed a 3-pointer at the 1:50 mark. Two more errant free throws led to the Lions climbing on top, 64-63. Kesley Young drove to the bucket and hit a free throw to put the Lady Bulldogs on top 66-64. The defense got a stop and Gina Dick sank a charity toss to close out the scoring.
Macon paced the scoring with 14 points. Walkup netted 12 points with 13 rebounds; Simpson 11 points, five assists; Atkins 10 points and Dick 9.
