The Bulldogs hosted Voorhees College on Monday night for an out of conference matchup. TWU defeated the Tigers 87-74.
Tennessee Wesleyan trailed from the beginning, leading only once (9-7) and tied at 23 before the Tigers put up six unanswered points. Tre Tiller, Jordan Hall and Kobe Foster had two-point baskets and Foster drained a "3" as the Bulldogs overtook the Tigers 32-31. Justin Simmons got in on the scoring act, followed by a three from Tiller and 3-pointer from Simmons to cap the 17-2 streak. Johnson Decembre's free throw and back-to-back 3-balls from Hall and Lenny Pradia opened a 12-point gap at the intermission, 47-35.
The Bulldogs stretched the advantage to 19 less than five minutes into the second half, but the Tigers started to chip away. The margin was down to 14 before Bryson Baker nailed a 3-pointer from the wing and the Bulldogs were off and running again. Tiller chipped in with four points; Pradia and Keno Jones a "3" among five points and difference was 27, 79-52, with 7:44 to play. Voorhees continued to try and get in it off mistakes by the Bulldogs, but the TWU finished the game winning 87-74.
A dozen Bulldogs scored in the game, led by Tiller with 15 points, adding a team-high seven assists and seven rebounds. Pradia and Hall tallied 11 each, while Foster had 10.
The Bulldogs will return to AAC Action on Wednesday when they host Bluefield College at 7:30 pm.
