The Lady Bulldogs hosted Bryan College on Saturday and earned an 80-70 win over the Lions.
Savannah Atkins tied the game at three with a trey, followed by baskets from Madison Walkup and Hunter Simpson for an 8-3 advantage. Tennessee Wesleyan led 14-11 after the first period. Tied at 17, Simpson and Gina Dick made 3-point baskets and Rachel Simbeck converted a three-point play to help the Lady Bulldogs widen the gap to 11 at the break, 40-29.
Gina Dick started the second half with a "3"; Simpson had two free throws and Lindsey Macon a basket, spreading the margin to 16, 47-31. Tennessee Wesleyan's largest lead came at 17 on a Simpson layup to start the final quarter, but Bryan rallied to climb back within six with 4:14 still left on the clock. Summer Morris ended the Lady Lions' rally with a 3-pointer and Dick sealed the win with a trey.
Gina Dick had a team-high 20 points and 10 rebounds, adding two assists. Simpson tallied 17 points with seven boards and two assists.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to Point University on Wednesday to play at 5:30. TWU then returns home on Saturday to host Columbia College at 2:00 pm.
