The Lady Bulldogs got down early in the game with Milligan coming out to a 19-14 lead after the first quarter. Milligan extended their lead to 8 at the half; 23-31.
Lady Bulldogs outscored the Buffs in the 3rd quarter 20-12 to leave the game tied at 43 going into the final 10 minutes. Tennessee Wesleyan used the momentum to stay in the game all through the fourth quarter until Hunter Simpson was able to score and take a 60-59 lead with 1:03 remaining. A turnover by Milligan gave TWU the ball back but a missed shot by Gina Dick and a defensive rebound for the Buffs gave them scoring opportunity. Milligan scored with 12 seconds to take a 61-60 lead and leave the Lady Bulldogs calling timeout. Hunter Simpson put in the final two points with one second remaining to give the Lady Bulldogs the win.
The Lady Bulldogs advance to the finals of the AAC Tournament tomorrow at 2:00 pm against Bryan College with the winner advancing to the NAIA National Tournament.
