Tennessee Wesleyan University is the No. 1 seed for the tournament that is set for May 3-6 at Hunter Wright Stadium in Kingsport, Tenn. This is the 11th year in a row the tournament has been held at Hunter Wright.
Tennessee Wesleyan and Point University are regular-season co-champions as both teams finished with identical 20-7 conference records. However, Tennessee Wesleyan receives the No. 1 seed for the tournament since it swept the three-game series from Point during the regular season.
Here are the seeds for the tournament:

2. Point (32-19, 20-7 AAC)
3. Bryan (35-16, 17-10 AAC)
4. Reinhardt (36-18, 16-11 AAC)
5. Union (27-22, 14-13 AAC)
6. Truett McConnell (28-25, 12-15 AAC)
7. Milligan (23-27, 11-16 AAC)
8. Bluefield (25-26, 10-17 AAC)
The tournament format consists of eight teams in two pools of four. In pool play, it is a double-elimination within pool play. The two pool winners will then meet in a winner-take-all championship game to determine the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament champion.
Play begins today with No. 4 seed Reinhardt taking on No. 5 seed Union at 9 a.m. with No. 3 seed Bryan facing No. 6 seed Truett McConnell at 12 p.m. No. 2 seed Point plays No. 7 seed Milligan at 4 p.m., and top-seeded Tennessee Wesleyan will close out the day against No. 8 seed Bluefield at 7 p.m.
The championship game is slated for Saturday.
