Barbourville, KY - Tennessee Wesleyan fought hard but the Union College Bulldogs held on to win 4-2 in Appalachian Athletic Conference play. The win for Union guaranteed a first-round host in the conference tournament to begin on November 7. The Bulldogs were held scoreless in the first half as Union scored three goals to take a 3-0 lead at the half. Richard Zuzart scored at the 55th minute to cut into the lead 3-1. However, Union scored again at the 62nd minute and Mitchell Slawson answered with another TWC goal at the 70th minute.
Miguel Valadez had 11 saves at goal. TWC had a total of 14 shots while Union had 37.
The Bulldogs are now 7-6-1 overall and 2-4 in conference play. The next contest for the Bulldogs will be October 21 at home when they face-off against King College.
