October did not prove to be a good month to the Lady Bulldogs soccer team. The Lady Bulldogs gave up their sixth straight loss on Saturday to the University of the Cumberlands 4-3. University of the Cumberlands scored two qoals before Britten Fandrich scored for TWC at the 41:12 mark. The Lady Patriots had the half time lead at 2-1.
At the 58:50 minute Fandrich scored her second goal of the game with assistance from Helen Collins to tie the game. Jordan Hendrix then scored on a solo shot at the 60:30 minute to take a 3-2 lead. The University of the Cumberlands scored two more goals at the 66:04 and 85:40 minutes to take the lead and win 4-3.
Tiffani Martin at goal recorded 14 saves for the Lady Bulldogs to add to her season best of 138 saves. During her playing career at TWC Martin recorded a total of 235 saves. Other seniors honored were Savannah Schrick (4 years as a Lady Bulldog), Samantha Sexton, Katie Smith (4 years as a Lady Bulldog) and Irina Tharin. Samantha Sexton completed her four years as a Lady Bulldog scoring a career of 11 goals.
The Lady Bulldogs finished the regular season 5-11-1 and 3-4 in conference play. They are scheduled to play again on Saturday, November 7 in the quarterfinals of the AAC Tournament Championship at TWC as they take on the Lady Eagles of Reinhardt College.
