LOOKOUT MTN., GA-The Bulldogs beginning the season with some tough opposition in season and exhibition play won their first contest at Covenant College with an impressive win 92-76.  For the first 12 minutes, the game see-sawed back and forth in a constant one possession game until Clarence Threat scored at the 7:42 mark to put TWC ahead 21-17. The half ended with the Bulldogs leading by four points 35-31.
In the second half, the Bulldogs jumped out to a big advantage early, and Covenant was unable to keep up.  The Bulldogs finished the game with six guys in double digits including a double-double from Matt Towry with 18 points, 11 rebounds. Other Bulldog scoring included 15 from Jesse Booher, game-high 19 points from Melvin Green, 14 from freshman Matt Harper (7 rebounds), 10 from E'Jay Ward, 10 from Clarence Threat.  Rudy Adams contributed to the scoring with six points.
 
The Bulldogs look to build on this win as they host Virginia Intermont on Saturday in conference matchup with tip-off slated to begin at 4:00.  The Bulldogs are now 1-3 on the season.
 
Game Note:  Towry's 11 rebounds are a career high for the junior post player from Elora, TN.
