ATHENS, Tn-The Tennessee Wesleyan College baseball program has announced its 2010 schedule, one that includes 26 home games as well as 28 road tests for the upcoming season. The Bulldogs have 13 games scheduled against teams in the NAIA Baseball Coaches Preseason Top 25 Poll, that was released in early November. Highlighted on the schedule will be contests with 2009 NAIA College World Series participants Lee University, TN and Southern Polytechnic University, GA.
Games to be played involving Top 25 opponents include #23 Auburn University - Montgomery, AL (February 6-7), #12 Lindenwood University, MO (February 20-21), #5 Lee University, TN (February 24 and April 13), #4 Southern Polytechnic University, GA (March 9) and #16 Union College, KY (April 2-3). Also included will be matchups against two teams receiving votes for the Top 25 in Trevecca Nazarene University, TN (March 2 and March 17), and Bluefield College, VA (April 17-18).
The schedule kicks off on Friday, Feb. 6, when the Bulldogs travel to Montgomery, Alabama for a two game set vs AUM. That series will be followed by a 10 game homestand starting with The University of St. Francis, IN on Feb. 12.
The Bulldogs hit the road over Spring Break in mid-March, traveling south for a doubleheader showdown against Southern Polytechnic University, GA (March 9). They then return home for a two game set vs. Judson University, IL (March 10-11). The week concludes with a trip to Milligan College, TN for the second weekend of Appalachian Athletic Conference action (March 13-14).
Tennessee Wesleyan will close out the month of April with tough Appalachian Athletic Conference opponents Union College, KY (April 2-3) at home and traveling to Bluefield, Virginia to face defending NCCAA National Champion Bluefield College (April 17-18).
The 2010 Appalachian Athletic Conference Baseball Championships will be held in Kingsport, Tennessee at Hunter Wright Stadium on May 7-12.
