The Lady Bulldogs took another step in the wrong direction during Wednesday's Appalachian Athletic Conference matchup against host Montreat College.
Following a five-game win streak, the Lady Bulldogs have now lost two in a row, slipping to 5-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference with a 72-60 loss to the Lady Cavaliers.
Game statistics were pretty even with the exception of one glaring deficiency where Montreat out-rebounded Wesleyan 36-21, including 12 offensive boards.
"We're just not a very good rebounding team and right now, I don't have a solution to the problem," said Wesleyan women's Coach Jeff Rice. "I know we don't have a lot of size, but we're going to have to do a better job of blocking out and being strong when we get our hands on the ball."
Behind sizzling 44 percent (11-25) shooting from behind the 3-point arc for the game, Montreat built a 37-29 halftime advantage and went on to post the 12-point win.
Candace Cain and Katie Blevins were the only Lady Bulldogs in double figures, each scoring 11 points.
