The Lady Dogs used the last 15 minutes of the game to defeat Montreat College 3 to 2.
On a warm October afternoon, the Lady Dogs had to battle back late in the game to defeat the Lady Cavaliers. Aina Berg began the scoring in the 43rd minute to put the Lady Dogs up 1 to 0 going into halftime.
Early in the second half, the Montreat defense cleared a ball to Montreat's Brittany Zachrich who lead the ball downfield and to the 1 v 1 shot against TWC's keeper Chealsey Baxter to tie the game at one. The game remained knotted at one until a TWC foul gave Brittany Zachrich a free kick outside the 18. Her shot cleared the TWC defensive wall and snuck into the upper 90 of the goal to give Montreat a 2 to 1 advantage.
TWC seemed to be destined to lose on the day, until a shot by Marissa Traer in the 78th minute rolled by Montreat's keeper into the net. Seven minutes later the Lady Dogs regained the lead when Sam Sexton crossed the ball over to Aina Berg who scored the game winning goal.
The Lady Dogs (5-8) (3 - 3 AAC) will host Midway College on October 22 at 4:00 on TWC Senior Day.
