The Bulldogs hosted Union College, KY on January 9^th.   The Bulldogs took the early lead scoring the first 2 points. Although Union was able to tie up the game with the next possession they were unable to gain the lead over the Bulldogs the rest of the half.  The Bulldogs went into the locker room at halftime ahead of Union 37-34. 

The second half started with several missed shots and then a foul called on Union. Matt Harper made one of the free throw shots to increase the lead 38-34. Union scored the next 6 points to take the lead for the first time in the game. Throughout the half, the lead switched back and forth several times. With 3 minutes left in the half the Bulldogs pulled ahead by two points when E'Jay Ward made 2 free throw shots. The Bulldogs were able to keep the lead finishing the game winning 68-65. 

Quincy Scates contributed 16 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Matt Towry and E'Jay Ward also scored in double figures; Matt Towry put up 13 points and E'Jay Ward scored 10 points.

The Bulldogs will host Bluefield College on Wednesday, January 13, 2009 at 7:30 pm.
