Lady Bulldogs win over Tennessee Temple

The Lady Bulldogs hosted Tennessee Temple in a nonconference matchup on Monday night. Although the Lady Bulldogs pulled out a win it wasn't easy with a field goal percentage of 37.5% . The Lady Bulldogs scored 3 points in the first 9:45 of the game. Lindsey Jackson made her second 3 point shot at 10:15 left in the half to bring the score to 6-9. From this point the Lady Bulldogs and Tennessee Temple continued to share the lead until half time when the Lady Bulldogs were ahead by 2 with a score of 23-21.
The second half continued much like the first with many missed shots and the two teams sharing the lead. With 2:17 left in the game Brittany Steen sunk a 3 point field goal to take the lead 48-45. In the next possession a foul was called on Amy Jo Castor which put Shayla Wilson from Temple on the free throw line. She made both free throws putting the Crusaders to within one point. There was a turnover by Brittany Steen which gave Temple the ball back. Kanetra Gonzales of Temple missed a field goal and Amy Jo Castor rebounded. A foul was called on Temple which placed Candace Cain at the free throw line for a one and one opportunity. Candance missed the free throw but it was rebounded by Ashton Burrell as the clock expired. The Lady Bulldogs won with a final score of 48-47.
Amy Jo Castor and Lindsey Jackson led the scoring as each tallied 9 points. Ragan Elliot pulled down 13 rebounds.
The Lady Bulldogs travel to Milligan College on Wednesday, January 20th for AAC action.
