The Bulldogs traveled to Union College last night for AAC action. The Bulldogs trailed 9-2 just barely four minutes into the game. The first half of the contest saw Union College shoot 19-for-35 (54.3 percent) from the floor while Tennessee Wesleyan struggled, only converting on 10-of-34 (29.4 percent) from the field. Union then used the momentum from the offensive end of the floor to force Tennessee Wesleyan into 13 first half turnovers, resulting in 15 points off turnovers. Union's lead grew to a game high 27 points, 50-23, with 1:39 remaining which proved to be too high of a mountain to climb for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs never quit however, cutting the 26-point Union halftime lead down to just 11 points midway through the second half, but it was not enough as Union stayed strong down low, recording a season high 51 rebounds on the evening and converted on 18-24 (75 percent) from the free throw line in the second half, 27-0f-40 (67.5 percent) for the game.
Tennessee Wesleyan was led on the evening by Matt Harper who tallied 18 points along with nine rebounds. Sean Bridges also chipped in 16 points for the visiting Bulldogs and Quincy Scates recorded a double-double in the losing effort amassing 13 points and 10 boards.
