The Bulldogs moved to 2-0 on Saturday with a 10-8 win over the visiting Bobcats of Lees-McRae College (NCAA DII). The Bulldogs were lead by Anthony Hunt's domination at the faceoff X, Hunt was 17-20 and helped TWC control the ball throughout the game.

The Bobcats opened up the scoring with two goals from Josh Shingleton less than a minute apart. The Bulldogs answer for that was three straight goals by Junior attackman Joel Gossner (4g, 1a). The game went into half time tied at four, with Austin Tosky (1g) scoring his first ever collegiate goal on an extra man opportunity for TWC. Landon Young and Jordan Shreiner had the other two goals for the Bobcats.

In the 3rd Quarter TWC took the lead for good, with Hunt (1g) scoring early. Junior attackman Ryan Horvath (3g 1a) pushed the lead to 6-4 with 6:50 left in the period. The Bobcats kept fighting and brought the score back to within one on a goal by Matt Markey, but Horvath's second goal of the 3rd quarter on a nice pass from Freshman Jacob Estrada (1g 1a) pushed the lead back to two to end the period.

In the opening two minutes of the 4th quarter TWC scored twice, one from Gossner and the next from Horvath with Taylor Parker(1a) making a smooth dish to Horvath for the goal. Again the Bobcats climbed back within two on goals from Danny Ives and Shreiner, but TWC's Estrada answered with a goal of his own. The Bobcats again got within two on a goal by Derin Vacca, but time ran out as the Bulldogs were finally able to kill off the clock. Sophomore John Lemoine got his first win in the goal this season by making 24 saves, Andy Nesdill had 20 saves for the Bobcats.

Next up for the Bulldogs is a home date with division opponent Furman on Saturday February 20th at 2:30pm.
