The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Bluefield College on Saturday, February 13th for AAC conference action. With Bluefield shooting 0-14 for 11 minutes in the first half the Lady Bulldogs should have had a large lead but the Lady Bulldogs were also 0-5 in the last 4:13 of the half resulting in a one point lead at halftime.
Bluefield's defensive pressure forced crucial turnovers in a 15-8 scoring streak by the Lady Rams that turned a one-point lead into a 46-38 advantage. The run started with back-to-back treys by Kiara Williams. Lindsey Jackson, in the NAIA's top 10 for three-pointers made, kept the Lady Bulldogs alive with two treys in the final 2:35. Teammate Katie Blevins stole the ball with just over a minute left and was fouled trying for the fast-break basket. She converted one of two foul shots for the game's final points, creating a three-point deficit. Her three-point attempt to tie the game at the final buzzer was just short of the rim.
Lindsey Jackson being the only Lady Bulldog in double figures lead all scorers with 12 points. Jackson also pulled down 5 rebounds.
The Lady Bulldogs host Reinhardt College on Wednesday, February 17th at 5:30 pm. Regular season play will wrap up on Saturday, February 20th at 2:00 pm with the final AAC match up, Milligan College.
