Baseball season has started and the Bulldogs play no matter what.  The snow on Friday and Saturday was no match for the Bulldogs and neither were the Cougars of the University of Saint Francis.   The Bulldogs increased their record to 3-2 with the three wins against Saint Francis, 11-0, 4-2, and 12-2.
On Friday the two teams played through the driving snow storm in the first game.  The Bulldogs erupted for 10 runs in the bottom of the second and mushed their way through for the five inning decision.   C.J. McElroy led the offense with 3 hits, including two doubles and an RBI.  Michael Whiteford and Kurtis Bramlett each had two of Wesleyan's 10 hits.  Cody Gaskill, Bramlett and David Lindsey each had two RBI's.   Troy Graybill picked up the win, allowing one hit and striking out nine with three walks over 3 2/3 innings. Ronald Phelps tossed 1 1/3 innings of one-hit relief with four strikeouts.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs came together as a team early in the morning to ensure the field was ready for the afternoon games.  With various equipment and lots of help the Bulldogs cleared the field of the snow from the previous day.   In game one, Johnny Smith's home run knotted the score at one in the third and McElroy's leadoff single led to a run in the fifth to earn a 2-2 tie.  Hits by Gaskill, Brad Pippa and McElroy plated the winning runs in the bottom of the sixth.  The Bulldogs had only seven hits, three by Smith and two from McElroy.  Freddy Lewis went five innings, surendering two hits with seven strikeouts and three walks.   Daniel Wood picked up the win with one inning of no-hit relief in a 1-2-3 sixth.  Max Loveland earned the save, closing out the game by striking out the side in the seventh.

The Bulldogs took control of game 2 with a six-run first, highlighted by Pippa's two run homer.   Whiteford bunted for a hit, Bramlett tripled and Devin Paschal had a hit in the uprising.  Leading 6-2, the Bulldogs added a run in the third, four more in the fourth and ended the game under the 10-run rule with a run in the sixth.  Bramlett, Pippa, and Paschal all had two hits.  Pippa and Paschal each had three RBI's and Loveland had two.  Gaskill and Loveland had doubles.   Justin Crowell picked up the win, allowing four hits with three strikeouts and one walk over four innings.  Matt McCracken tossed two innings of no-hit relief with one strikeout.
