The Bulldogs have been on a downhill slope since their win over Montreat on February 1st. The Bulldogs have lost 5 in a row causing their AAC record to go from 9-1 to 9-6. Last night, the Bulldogs faced the Eagles of Reinhardt College. Matt Harper scored to give the Bulldogs their first lead at 4-2. Throughout the half, the Bulldogs and the Eagles shared the lead making the game interesting and close. The Bulldogs were able to come ahead at half with a score of 44-40.
E'Jay Ward and Booher nailed 3-pointers and Matt Towry had a three-point play and dunk among seven points before a bucket by Barham opened an 11-point gap at 67-56 with 10 minutes to play. The Eagles were then able to score 10 unanswered points. Towry and Booher scored to increase the lead back to 5 with a score of 71-66. Reinhardt then went on a 9-0 run to reclaim the lead. The Eagles were able to hold on to the lead while the Bulldogs struggled at the free throw line. Reinhardt won over the Bulldogs with a final score of 78-75.
The Bulldogs were led by both Jesse Booher and Matt Towry scoring 14 points each. Towry also pulled down 9 rebounds for the Bulldogs. Also in double figures was E.J. Ward with 11 points and Clarence Threat with 10.
The Bulldogs play their last regular season game on Saturday, February 20th at 4:00 pm.
