The Lady Bulldogs hosted the Lady Eagles of Reinhardt College on Wednesday night. Although the Lady Bulldogs struggled at the free throw line, they were able to hit the ones that counted and win over the Lady Eagles, 59-49.
The Lady Bulldogs were down 8-0 but with 3-pointers by Gabby Jordan, Lindsey Jackson, and Katie Blevins the Lady Bulldogs were able to go on an 18-4 run. Reinhardt was able to pull to tie it at 22 and then with poor free throw shooting by both teams the half was ended by a tie at 27.
The Lady Eagles went in front 34-33 before Ashton Burrell converted a three-point play and Jessica Sweat scored four points for a 40-35 TWC lead. The Lady Eagles rallied again, tying the score at 47. Amy Jo Castor's free throw preceded the big '3' from Jackson. Castor followed with a bucket and Blevins went 5-of-6 from the free throw line as the Lady Bulldogs pulled away.
Amy Jo Castor led the team in scoring with 11 points, while Lindsey Jackson had 10. Candace Cain pulled down a 9 rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldogs will wrap up regular season action on Saturday, February 20th at home against Milligan College. The game will start at 2:00 pm.
