Meghan Whaley wins her first singles match of the season

University of the Cumberlands traveled to Athens to play against the Lady Bulldogs.  The Lady Bulldogs gave it a great effort and came close to winning the match but the Patroits of the University of the Cumberlands were too much with a final score of 5-4.   The Lady Bulldogs won one of the doubles matches and three of the singles.   Karolina Pierko gave up no games in the singles match against Donna Strong.   Pierko and Meghan Whaley won in the doubles match against Donna Strong and Shelby Muff.  Also winning their singles matches were Kayla Foster and Meghan Whaley.   Coach Thornton feels that the women are gaining confidence in their skills and wins will come in future matches.

The Lady Bulldogs play next on March 23rd in Applachian Athletic Conference action against Covenant College.   They will play at home starting at 4:00 pm.
