
Tennessee Wesleyan Lady Bulldogs traveled to Trevecca University for softball action. The Lady Bulldogs split with the Trojans of Trevecca winning the first game 4-2 and losing the second 18-2.
The Trojans jumped on top early in game one, scoring two runs on three hits in the first inning, but managed just two more hits the rest of the way against Bulldog starter Brittany Fox. Tennessee Wesleyan scored three times in the third inning to take the lead, and then added a solo home run in the seventh to close out the scoring. Ashley Bryson led the team in the first game going 2 for 3 with a double, HR and 1 RBI. Megan Arndts was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Brittnie Hester went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. The winning pitcher was Brittany Fox going 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits.
Game two was a completely different story for the Trojan offense, as Trevecca again jumped on top with three runs in the first inning, but the difference was the second inning. Fifteen Trojan hitters came to the plate, and eleven of them scored, as Trevecca put this game away early. In game two, Sunni Jackson went 1 for 3 with 3 RBIs for the Bulldogs. Kayla Kerns took the loss on the mound.
The Lady Bulldogs will finish up the season next Wednesday, April 21 @ home vs Lee University beginning at 3:00 pm. Wesleyan will be hosting a Pink Out to benefit Breast Cancer awareness.
