The Lady Bulldogs hosted Lee University for their last regular season game and Senior day. TWC celebrated senior day and participated in a "pink out" game to raise over $1,000 to be donated to the Susan G. Komen foundation, for the cure. In between game one and game two, the five seniors, Brittany Fox, Ashton Burrell, Kanissa Webb, Paige Goins, and Megan Arndts were recognized.
Game one was a pitching duel between TWC pitcher Brittany Fox and Lee University's Johana Gomez. Each team was scoreless until Lee broke through on a 2 run homer by Gomez. TWC battled back and had 2 on in the bottom of the 6th before a line drive out by Brittany Hester ended the inning. Both teams went 3 up 3 down in the 7th with the final score TWC 0 and Lee 2. Leaders for TWC were singles by Ashley Bryson, Megan Arndts, and Kanissa Webb. Brittany Fox took the loss on the mound.
In game 2 Lee jumped on top with a solo HR in the 3rd and a 3 run homer in the 4th, to get a 4 nothing lead. TWC answered in the bottom of the 4th with 2 runs and 2 more runs in the bottom of the 5th on a RBI ground out by Bryson and a SAC fly by Arndts, to tie the score 4 all. Lee regained the lead with 3 runs in the top of the 6th with the big blow being a 2 out, 2 run single by Saunders. TWC tried to pull it out in the bottom of the 7th with singles by Burrell and Bryson to cut the lead to 7-5. But a ground out to short stop stopped the rally and TWC fell 7-5. Leaders were Bryson 3 for 4 with 2 RBIs and Ashton Burrell went 2 for 4. Paige Goins took the loss on the mound.
Lady Bulldogs will being their conference tournament in Kingsport, TN on Tuesday April, 27th.
