The Bulldogs played in their first game of the Avista-NAIA World Series on Friday morning. Wesleyan played number 7 seeded Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. The Bulldogs out hit Embry-Riddle 5-2 in the first 6 innings but were unable to score. The game went scoreless for the first 6 1/2 innings. Embry-Riddle scored one run in the bottom of the 7th when they had 3 hits. 

The 8th inning for the Bulldogs started with C.J. McElroy grounding out, but then Ryan Santos hit a single. Santos advanced to second on a wild throw and then to 3rd on a wild pitch. Jonathan Smith hit a sacrifice fly to score Ryan Santos. 

The game continued in a tie, 1-1, until the 12th inning. Max Loveland singled and then stole 2nd. With a balk by Embry-Riddle's pitcher, Loveland was advanced to third and then Brad Pippa hit a sacrifice fly to score him.  Embry-Riddle came back to score 2 more and take the game 3-2. 

The Bulldogs had a total of 7 hits with Ryan Santos, Jonathan Smith, Cody Gaskill, Max Loveland, Rafael Carlot, Brad Pippa, and C.J. McElroy each having one.   Hamilton started the game pitching 7 innings. Jason Ferguson came in as relief for 4 1/3 inning and then Justin Crowell came in to finish the game. 

The Bulldogs will play the loser of the game between Oklahoma City and California Baptist. They will play on Saturday at 3:00 pm EDT.
