Momodou Barrow suffers season ending injury
Men's Soccer - Mon, Oct. 25, 2010

Tennessee Wesleyan College played at home this Saturday against Berry College. Berry are flying this year losing only one game and winning ten. It was going to be a hard game for TWC who were coming off the back of a good conference win midweek against Union.

The game started brightly for TWC who were trying to keep the ball against the high tempo Berry outfit, eventually Berry's high pressure, high tempo began to force TWC to give the ball away. When they got the ball this good Berry team looked dangerous, especially through Dino Ceric down their left. TWC battled through some spells of poor possession to create chances, John Carrier had a good shot saved by the Berry goalkeeper. The best chance of the first half came as a cross from the TWC right was met by Momodou Barrow who saw his excellent volley cannon back off the Berry bar. The score at the half was TWC 0 Berry College 0.

The second half did not start well for TWC, they lost Momodou Barrow to a broken leg after an innocuous challenge with one of the Berry players. After the injury TWC struggled to gain the momentum and Berry took the lead when they broke down the right, pulled the ball back and the pull back found one of the Berry players unmarked in the box and he slid it into the net. TWC had chances to get back into the game, Luke Winter had a header that went just over the bar and John Carrier had a shot well saved by the Berry goalkeeper. The final score in the game was TWC 0 Berry College 1.

TWC's next game is Tuesday October 26th at 3pm, home against Campbellsville University. Campbellsville are currently on a five game winning streak and have a record of 13-3 for the season. It will be another tough non-conference game for Tennessee Wesleyan College.
