Tennessee Wesleyan College's softball team split a pair of games with Young Harris (Ga.) Wednesday, falling 8-7 in the first game and then winning 6-4.

TWC pounded out 13 hits in the first game, but still lost by a run. Pitcher Brittany Monday took the loss, giving up six runs on four hits while striking out five and walking five.  Brooke Ward went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs for the Lady Bulldogs. Lindsey Arndts went 2-for-3 with an RBI.

TWC's Kayla Kerns earned the win in the second game, throwing a complete game. She gave up seven hits while striking out five and walking two.  Amber Cofer led Wesleyan at the plate, going 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs. Her home run was the game-winning hit in the bottom of the fifth.  Rachel Moretto had two hits and two stole bases while Stacie Nelson also had two hits.

The Lady Bulldogs will host Maryville today, March 18, starting at 2 p.m
