The Appalachian Athletic Conference announced the 2011 Baseball All-Conference Team and Awards on Tuesday. David Bergin of Tennessee Wesleyan is the Player of the Year. Bergin made the All-AAC Team twice this season as a designated hitter and a pitcher to earn him the Player of the Year award. This is the fifth year in a row a Tennessee Wesleyan player received the award.
With Bergin making the All-AAC Team at two different positions, Tennessee Wesleyan occupied six total spots on the 17-person team with five players. In addition to Bergin, Rafael Carlot, Cody Gaskill, Sam Munson, and Jonathan Smith were named to the All-Conference team. Tennessee Wesleyan placed three players on the nine-person Gold Glove Team including Cody Gaskill, Sam Munson, and Jonathan Smith.
