Naomi Clarke - Head Coach
Naomi Clarke enters her fourth year as head coach of the Tennessee Wesleyan women's soccer program. In the 2008-09 season, Clarke guided the team to a 9-10-0 overall record and a 4-3-0 conference record in the AAC. Finishing 4th place in regular season standings, Clarke took the Lady Bulldogs into the AAC tournament for her second time, where they lost in the 2nd round to conference regular season and tournament champs King College in a double overtime semifinal game. Overall, Clarke has lead Tennessee Wesleyan Women's Soccer to a 26-24-3 record and 12-9-1 AAC conference record. In her three years here, Clarke has coached nine (9) TWC players named to AAC Conference Teams, three (3) players named to NAIA Region XII teams, and one NSCAA Honorable All American selection. Clarke, originally from New Zealand, came to Tennessee Wesleyan in 2006 following a two year stint as assistant women's coach at the University of North Alabama where she also completed a Master's degree in Health Promotion and Human Performance. Prior to coaching college soccer, Clarke played at the NCAA Division II level at Lock Haven University of PA (2000-2002), and the Metropolitan State College of Denver 2003-2004) where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Human Performance and Sport emphasizing Teaching K-12 Physical Education. During her playing career Clarke earned the honor of being named an NSCAA All-American selection all four years of her college career (2000-2003) as well as both 1st Team Regional and 1st Team Conference selections each year. Clarke also has national team caps under her belt with representation on the New Zealand Senior Women's National Team. Clarke co-founded and is the Director of Coaching at local soccer club McMinn United FC and has also previously coached for elite clubs out of the Nashville, TN and Denver, CO areas. Clarke is also a soccer camp veteran coach having coached and directed with Joe Machnik's No.1 Soccer Camps since 2002 and Coerver Coaching since 2005. Clarke currently works with the TN Olympic Development Program and teaches classes part-time at the college. Clarke holds her USSF National 'C' Coaching License.
