[Baseball] Bulldogs split with visiting Judson University

The Bulldogs avoided the rain to play against Judson University on Wednesday and Thursday. The Bulldogs were defeated on Wednesday 14-10 but came back on Thursday to win 13-11. The Bulldogs overall record is now 16-5.

Tennessee Wesleyan came out slow and battled back from an early deficit, but in the end Davenport (Mich.) was able to regain the lead and take away an 85-72 first-round victory on Thursday at the 19th Annual State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena. Tennessee Wesleyan's season closes out at 17-16. It was the Bulldogs eighth overall appearance and first since 2004.

[Softball] Softball travels to California to play

The Lady Bulldogs softball team has traveled to California to play a double header against Cal State San Marcos and a double header against California Baptist University. The Lady Bulldogs were defeated 8-0 and 5-0 in the two games against Cal State San Marcos.

[Women's Golf] Lady Bulldogs finish 4th in the Piedmont Invitational

The Lady Bulldogs traveled to play in the Piedmont Invitiational at The Orchard Golf and Country Club in Clarkesville, GA. After the first round, the Lady Bulldogs were placed third, but after round two the Bulldogs finished in Fourth place. Britany Rader and Natalie Foster both tied for ninth with two others, while Katelyn Weiner finished 18th and Jenna Lewis finished 29th.

The Bulldogs played in the first series of conference play this weekend. They hosted Virginia Intermont for a double header on Saturday and a single game on Sunday. The Bulldogs won all three games to start out conference play with a 3-0 record.

The Bulldogs improve to 3-0 after a win at Berry College on Friday. The Bulldogs led early after winning all three doubles points. The closest match was at No. 1 doubles, where Mancelo Peterlini and Daniel Mician lost 8-6 to Cody Gaby and Giovanni Santos. The Bulldogs won 8-2 at No. 2 doubles and 8-3 at No. 3 doubles.

The Lady Bulldogs Tennis team traveled to Berry College on Friday. The team lost 9-0 with Berry winning all of the doubles and singles matches. The closest match of the afternoon was at No. 1 singles, where Marina Lebrao beat Karolina Pierko 6-3, 6-3. It was the first loss for Pierko since the 2008 season. The senior was 3-0 in singles matches and had gone 11-0 in singles play last season.

The Bulldogs traveled to Greeneville, TN to play in the Tusculum Invitational at Link Hills Country Club. After the first day of play the Bulldogs were placed 10^th. The Bulldogs finished tying for 11^th place with Spartandburg Methodist Community College. Casey Fleniken finished at 14^th for the Bulldogs. Lenoir-Rhyne tied the tournament 36-hole team record of 564. Lenoir-Rhyne's Jack Garrett shot a tournament and South Atlantic Conference record 63 on Sunday. His 36-hole score of 134 is a new tournament record, while tying the South Atlantic Conference 36-hole record.

[Baseball] Bulldogs win over Tennessee Temple

Wesleyan, ranked 11th nationally in the NAIA preseason poll, improved to 12-3 on the season with a win over Tennessee Temple on Thursday. Wesleyan took a 1-0 lead in the third when Kurtis Bramlett singled and scored on Max Loveland's double. A leadaoff single by Ryan Santos led to a second run in the fourth. Wesleyan stretched the lead to 5-0 in the fifth on singles from David Lindsay, Max Loveland and Santos, along with Johnny Smith's double. A single by Johnny Smith, a walk and two-out error made it 7-0 in the seventh. The Bulldogs' final two runs came in the eighth on singles from Tanner Quirk, Andy Duncan, Johnny Smith and a sacrifice fly from Loveland.

The dance team will be having try-outs on Saturday, March 27^th. It will be held in the gym from 9 am-2 pm and lunch will be served. The Dance team performs at all home games during the basketball season.

The fifth seeded Lady Bulldogs traveled to play against the number 2 team, Union College, in the finals of the AAC Tournament. After two overtimes, the Lady Bulldogs pulled out a win to move on to the NAIA Division II National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa for the 8th time in program history and first time since 2004.
