Tennessee Wesleyan came out slow and battled back from an early deficit, but in the end Davenport (Mich.) was able to regain the lead and take away an 85-72 first-round victory on Thursday at the 19th Annual State Farm-NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena. Tennessee Wesleyan's season closes out at 17-16. It was the Bulldogs eighth overall appearance and first since 2004.
